114 RISK MANAGEMENT Risk management and internal control Your Board has overall responsibility for the Company’s system of risk management and internal control, which includes financial controls, operational and compliance controls to ensure that shareholders’ investments, customers’ interests and the Company’s assets are safeguarded. Your Board regularly reviews the Company’s principal risks and its internal controls. The risk management process is supported by our internal audit function reviewing the effectiveness of the internal controls in place. The Statement on Risk Management and Internal Control, which provides an overview of the state of internal controls within the Group can be found on pages 119 - 129 of this report.
